Bread batter
- Preheat oven to 350℉
- Line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper
- Combine flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg in a large bowl. Whisk together. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer for about 2 minutes.
- Add eggs and vanilla. Mix for 1 minute.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Add grated apple and nuts (if adding). Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter in parchment lined loaf pan and spread evenly. Once you reach the top level batter out.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick is nearly clean.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool down. While the bread is cooling, make the glaze.
Apple Glaze
- Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until everything is well combined. Using a spoon, add glaze on top of the warm bread. Let the glaze settle.
- Enjoy!
Notes
*When adding glaze, you can place the bread on a wire rack with parchment paper underneath. It will prevent the glaze from puddling up around the bread.
You can omit nuts from the recipe.
You can use any apples you want.
I used buttermilk for a softer texture, you can substitute with regular milk.
The apples can be chopped into small pieces or grated.
